Dongdaegu Station to JRYN Daegu
Dongdaegu is Daegu's main KTX and SRT station, and it sits on Daegu Metro Line 1, the same line as Jungangno. No transfer, four stops, then a short walk to Dongseong-ro.
Five steps to the clinic
- Head for the subway. Follow signs for Daegu Metro Line 1 (Dongdaegu, station 135). The Dongdaegu Station Complex Transfer Center is built for one-stop transfers between the KTX, the subway and express and intercity buses.
- Get a transit card if you don't have one. T-money and Cashbee cards are sold at subway station machines and some convenience stores, or buy a single-journey token from the machine.
- Board toward Seolhwa-Myeonggok , not toward Hayang. If a map still shows Ansim as the end of the line, it is out of date: Line 1 was extended from Ansim to Hayang in December 2024.
- Ride 4 stops : Sincheon, Chilseong Market, Daegu Station and Jungangno. The ride takes about 7 minutes.
- Use Exit 2 at Jungangno and walk about 3 minutes to 20 Dongseong-ro, opposite the ZARA store.
The stations you pass
| No. | Station | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| 135 | Dongdaegu | KTX, SRT and the Daegyeong Line |
| 134 | Sincheon | |
| 133 | Chilseong Market | |
| 132 | Daegu Station | Conventional rail and the Daegyeong Line |
| 131 | Jungangno | Exit 2 for the clinic; linked to the Daehyun PriMall underground shopping centre |
Direction: toward Seolhwa-Myeonggok. About 7 minutes in total.
Before you head down to the subway
Dongdaegu Station is at 550 Dongdaegu-ro, Dong-gu. KTX, Saemaul and Mugunghwa trains stop here, and SRT trains do too. If you need help with directions, the Dongdaegu Station Tourist Information Center on the station plaza (tel. 053-939-0080) offers interpretation.
Paying for the subway
Tap a transit card at the gate on the way in and again on the way out. T-money, Cashbee and Hanpay cards work on Daegu buses and the subway, as do local cards such as OnePass. Changing between subway and bus within 30 minutes is free. The station machines show the current fare.
Arriving at Seodaegu instead
Some KTX services also stop at Seodaegu Station (527 Waryong-ro, Seo-gu), though far fewer trains call there than at Dongdaegu. From Seodaegu, the Daegyeong Line regional rail runs to Daegu Station, which is one stop from Jungangno on Line 1. Since 1 September 2026, KTX and SRT run as one integrated service with a single booking app, and which trains stop at Seodaegu varies, so check the timetable when you book.
Taking a taxi
A taxi from Dongdaegu works too, especially with heavy luggage. Show the driver the Korean address, 대구광역시 중구 동성로 20 , and allow for traffic in the city centre. For most visitors the subway is the simpler choice, because Line 1 runs straight to Jungangno without a change.
Heading back to the train
After your appointment, walk back to Jungangno Station and take Line 1 in the other direction, toward Hayang, for 4 stops to Dongdaegu. Build in a margin before your train. Some treatments start with numbing cream, which can add around 30 minutes, so ask on WhatsApp how long your plan will take before you book a return ticket.
